Bar Night
Bar Night hosts a monthly evening event for AWA members to get together, let off some steam and socialize in various relaxed, friendly venues around Singapore. Previous events include wine tasting, bar hopping and themed bashes.
High Tea
Each month this group explores the wide variety of High Teas available in Singapore at some of our beautiful hotels. It is a lovely, civilized way to make new friends and experience Singapore. Reservations (with payment) are made through the AWA office.
Just Coffee
Come and join us for a coffee - no booking, no commitment, just AWA members meeting for some good old fashioned chit-chat! There will always be a member of the committee ready to welcome you. It's a wonderful way to meet new friends or reconnect with old ones. We meet on alternate Fridays from 10am to 12 Noon at Starbucks at Liat Towers on Orchard Road. The Movie Lunch Group meets once a month for lunch followed by a movie in the Orchard Road area. The movie is typically one that your spouse or partner does not want to see, whether it's a 'chick flick' or an art house film. Simply Social Luncheons
Simply Social hosts a monthly luncheon to provide a venue for meeting other women. A guest speaker addresses issues unique to Singapore or subjects of special interest to women. All AWA members are welcome to attend. This is a great way to socialize and to find out about AWA activities as well as a relaxed, casual way to make new friends.
Special Events
AWA hosts a variety of special events throughout the year. Some recent examples:
- The International Woman of the Year Award in the spring
- The Carpet Auction in the fall
- The Holiday Luncheon in the winter
- The Home Tour in the winter
Women's Social Network
Do you have unanswered random questions about Singapore? Are you looking for a friend to go to the movies with? The Women's Social Network exists for any AWA member who spends a lot of time on her own and it looking for company to explore Singapore. Join WSN; the AWA's online Google Group. We meet on alternate Wednesdays for a casual coffee and to put faces to names that we share information with online. Contact Jacqui Simpson for more details or to join the Google Group.
