Pilates

Join Jo Cockerill & Line Pilates for a weekly mat pilates session, bookable in a monthly bundle. 

This class is suitable for participants who are aware of pilates basics rather than for absolute beginners, as this is a mixed ability class. (If you are interested in pilates basics lessons please do email office@awasingapore.org and if we have sufficient interest we will arrange a beginners class).

Mats are provided but if you would like to bring your own please do so, you will need to wear gym kit, bring water and a pair of socks. Trainers are not needed. All other equipment will be provided.

Please note we need 6 people minimum in order to run the class.

ABOUT PILATES
Pilates is a form of low-impact exercise that aims to strengthen muscles while improving postural alignment and flexibility.
Pilates moves tend to target the core, although the exercises work other areas of your body as well.


The health benefits of Pilates include:
improved flexibility and mobility
increased muscle strength and tone, particularly of your abdominal muscles, lower back, hips and buttocks (the 'core muscles' of your body)
balanced muscular strength on both sides of your body.
Improved posture and balance

Pilates is a great core strengthening & postural workout and was developed by Joseph Pilate in the early 20th century.

Jo is from the UK and has been teaching Pilates for 20 years and has a specialty in back care.
